Jumpstyle is a rave dance and a genre of electronic music, which is mainly practised in Europe. This dance is usually performed by two people or more.

Legs play the biggest part in jumpstyle. It is performed by swinging and moving one’s legs back and forth to the rhythm of music. The dancer jumps up a bit in every part of the dance. The most difficult steps are the ones that are combined with turning, bending etc.  Jumpstyle movements differ from other styles of dance and the dance itself is mostly improvised by using the acquired moves.

Other moves include the hi-tic – an upwards jump, during which one’s heels are knocked together.

Jumpstyle has various styles, and, although they are slightly different, all of them belong to the jumpstyle category.
